              Shaam-e-bekasi aayi……Qabil Ajmeri.

Naye chirag liye shaam-e-bekasi aayi,
Ke dil bujhake chiraghon mein roshni aayi.

Hamare paas kahan aansuon ki saughatein,
Kisi ko apna banake badi hansi aayi.

Jahaan-e-daar-o-rusn hoke bazm-e-shoor-o-adab,
Hamare saamne apni hi zindagi aayi.

Tumhari yaad ko aaraam–e-jaan banaya tha,
Tumhari yaad bhi lekin kabhi kabhi aayi.
