a poets reply to war

for a special friend a reply i had to think
maybe to your it'll have no link
maybe i dont know what you'll think
maybe,because my country is not on the brink
but dead bodies we have,victims of crime,what a stink

the said truth is every war has a hidden agenda
"you wrong","I'm wrong" they scream,its just slander
we no longer engage in friendly banter
but to the trumpets of war we quickly canter
Goverments march us into the fire saying "you a salamandor"

even if every voice sang "the peace train"
not even one word could lift the shroud on a mothers pain
ON the news of her childs death the color from her cheeks did drain
for all mothers if in INDIA ,TURKEY OR SPAIN
When a soldier dies some greedy industrialist gains

is it so hard to reach out to a brother?
or a compassionate hug for anothers father?
before "1947" did your'll not live with one another?
the only difference religioun,there was no other
then the english ruler turned brother against brother
