A city's lifeline flamed to ashes
The Nation mourned with its cries
Blood smeared all along the lines
Of so many precious lives..

Children lost their Fathers
Mothers, their child,
Many innocent lives shattered
Prey to terror's snide

A Nation lost hold of Life
No answer to devil's deeds
A slow struggle, life waged
Its resilience succeeds

At devil's henchmen
City mocks thus
Builds higher minarets
Without much fuss
