Forever Only Yours

Silent tears stream from my eyes, blurring what I see,
It is these waves of sour anguish that captivate me,
I tear at my seams as I alone stand and collapse,
I watch my shreds separate before me, and I alone collect my scraps.
How long before I can liven these frail and feared eyes?
It’ll take eons, lifetimes, afterlives even, I surmise…
I wish to know if ever you, too, think what I do,
I wish to somehow decide someday, how much it is exactly, that I love you.
I lay my hand on my hushed, hungry heart- How many times does it skip a beat?
I see you in my dreams, I see you in the winds, I see you lulling along the waves, but when exactly will we meet?
It breaks and shatters me when I understand that you merely exist, but that you are not mine… And I look at the skies wondering… if I will ever again be fine?

At such times your thought alone serves as the universal remedy to all my aches and sores,
And it is in those moments that I come to know with certainty- I am, in all essence, forever only yours!
