Shower of elixir from The Garden of Eden Fell on me and kissed My soiled, ruffled mane. Softly caressed the cracked lips, cheeks And ravaged mirth That was baked and drooped, In the summer’s hearth.
“Open your mouth”’ the lark In my heart squirmed. I obliged, soaked throat in elixir And tongue moistened. Green trees at left and right, Danced and me fanned, Branches laden with fruits; Smiled and beckoned.
Fresh and dewy white flowers Swaying and permeating scent, Some fell on my crown; Smiled the hanging crescent. Cuckoo coo-ed, peacock’s salsa In his plushy feather, Doe-eyed squirrels nibbling fruits, Scampering hither- thither.
Suddenly, a distant call, “M-o-n- -“ And a tap on the shoulder’ Jerked and woke me up From the surreal slumber. I rubbed and opened the eyes And looked around, Stark reality struck me; I was sleeping on the ground!
Oh, dear! The evening breeze lulled me To sleep when I lied Exhausted, bathing in sweat; Under the tree shade. I glanced at my shabby clothes That has faded with time Lacked soap-cake, clean water To wash the grime.
Dear, I had a beautiful voyage To heaven, vivid till now. Had royal attire, water to wet lips And gourmet’s treat, wow! May be I was in dreamland Just for awhile But tasted elixir, quenched thirst And stayed with style.
Do the animals, insects and Birds ever dream? And can they enjoy this bliss Of heavenly realm?? Nay dear, I don’t think Even in remote wild, Thank oh God! I’m your blessed child.
Thank God again that You sculpted me as a human, For awhile I was In cherry-blossomed Eden. No more shall I worry oh good Lord Till my bell tolls, eternal sleep, This blessed life has some purpose, Shall justify in this earth trip. Till I go to eternal sleep- - -
