Dilrubaa, nam huye rukhsaar ko kaisey bhooluun?
Beyzubaan hi huye izhaar ko kaisey bhooluun?

Naazneenoun ki shoukhiyon pai log martey hain:
Alwidaa ho chukey gamkhwaar ko kaisey bhooluun?

Hamnawaayee thee, shaakh-o-gul see aashnaayee thee;
Us azeezee key sarokaar ko kaisey bhooluun?

Tum nahin zad mein: kaho, ab uyoon kyaa deykheyn?
Zeest key dour mein, ab yaar ko kaisey bhooluun?

Zarrey-zarrey mein nihaan muttahid hai paikar sey;
Baatinee noor key us pyaar ko kaisey bhooluun?

Mein namaazee to nahin huun, ki, khudaa sey maangoon;
Yaar, is–paar sey us paar ko kaisey bhooluun!

Ab, 'abd', unko pukaaruun bhi, woh na aayengey;
Aakhiree unkee us pukaar ko kaisey bhooluun?
