Husn afroz kahaan tak bhalaa chhupaaougey?
Na sahee aaj, kabhee to nazar mein aaougey?

Chaandnee raat mein, mahtaab chhupeygaa kaisey?
Naqaab-e-abra kahaan hai, ki, audhh paaougey?

Eik arsey sey kharhaa dar pai muntazir huun mein!
Tishnagee barhh rahee hai: noor-e-may pilaaougey?

Khilkhilaahat hai mahalley mein, ruaansaa hun mein!
Sochataa huun, shareek hokey khilkhilaaougey!!

Umar hee kyaa hai aapkee, ki, naqaaboun mein katey?
Husn-e-firdous muharrik kahaan dabaaougey?

Khoob chamkogey sarey bazm sitaaroun ki tarah!
Log farmaaisheyn kareyngey: maan jaaougey!!

Bahut udaas hun: rushwah karo; karo kuchh bhee!
Kyoun ho naaraaz? Aaj bhee nahin bataaougey?

Rah-e-talab hai, hamsafar hai dilaweyz; 'abd';
Dil kee baateyn hain laakh; par kisey sunaaougey?

Ye hunar aapka kab tak chhupaoge
Din mai kaise Aaftaab ko Chhupaoge

Dhund he lenge hum tumhe,na chhup paoge
Ye wo rishta hai jo tum nahi chhod paoge

Abhi to chaand sar par hai, sitaarey saath hain apney;
Abhi hain roo-b-roo ham, anaasir hain sabhi muttahidah!
Nigaahoun mein abhi bhi hasrateyn baaqee hain 'kuchh deykheyn';
Bahaaroun kee bhi manshaa hai, ki, 'woh-ham' raheyn muttahidah!!
