1) I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.
2) I've learned that it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts.
3) I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do, but to the best you can do.
4) I've learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
5) I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
6) I've learned that either you control your attitude or it controls you.
7) I've learned that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
8. I've learned that learning to forgive takes practice.
9) I've learned that there are people who love you dearly, but just don't know how to show it.
10) I've learned that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
11) I've learned that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
12) I've learned that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.
13) I've learned that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
14) I've learned that no matter how good a friend someone is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
15) I've learned that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
16) I've learned that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.
17) I've learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
18. I've learned that there are many ways of falling and staying in love.
19) I've learned that no matter the consequences, those who are honest with themselves, get further in life.
20) I've learned that many things can be powered by the mind, the trick is self-control.
21) I've learned that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.
22) I've learned that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.
23) I've learned that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
24) I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon.
25) I've learned that although the word "love" can have many different meanings, it loses value when overly used.
26) I've learned that love is not for me to keep, but to pass on to the next person I see.
27) I've learned that even if you do the right thing for the wrong reason, it's still the wrong thing to do.

@ akela

It's my hope by sharing "I've Learned - Author - unknown" that I've helped bring a ray of enlightenment to & add a touch of clarity to living. On a dreary & gloomy day we sometimes  lose sight of some of life's important things. There is something that I'd want to include here. I've learned that no matter how fast or how far you go, you can't outrun God.

Thanks,  Pooja ji.

Suhas ji, your post is excellent but all the stuff that circulates on the web through e-mails and stuff is not always right. For example: In my view the above post of yours is only true to an extent, this is my justification as follows -

1) True, very true!
2) True, very true!
3) We can only compare ourselves to the best others can do and not to the best we can do because competing with ourselves would be pointless my dear, does the logic get to you?
4) Leaving loved ones with loving words always would soon become a chore and the act would not be loving anymore.
5) We are not always completely responsible for what we do because there is something called accidents, brainwashing, ignorance, misguidance, unfortunate circumstances, others’ wickedness and fate. However to do wrongs while having complete knowledge of everything is not excusable.
6) True, very true!
7) Heroes are not heroes if they don’t care about the consequences.
glasses2 Forgiveness is from the heart, if your heart can forgive you will. It has nothing to do with practice.
9) If people love you dearly, they will find a way to show you.
10) True, very true!
11) With distance, everything diminishes just like it does with time, don't try to live in denial.
12) If someone does not seem to love you the way you want them to, it means they are not very close to you and so don’t love you because if they did then they would intuitively know how to love you. On the other hand, if someone loved you in their own way and deeply, you would love that.
13) Maturity only comes with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated and so it matters how many b’days you’ve celebrated.
14) You don’t have to forgive anybody. If you can then forgive and if not then don’t try to.
15) True, very true!
16) The world doesn’t have to stop for anybody’s grief, that’s why it doesn’t. Don’t try to blame the world here because the world is not at fault but you or your misfortune, in this misfortune of course the world might be responsible but then that’s all the more reason it won’t care.
17) Our background and circumstances are mainly responsible for who and what we become.
18) True, very true!
19) "Behind every great fortune there is a crime."
20) True, very true!
21) Contradicts with #17 right away but #21 is very true!
22) True, very true!
23) True, very true!
24) True, very true!
25) Contradicts with #4 but #25 is very true!
26) Love is for keeping because only then can you love another. If you don’t have money how can you share it with others?
27) True, very true!

I don’t agree with you Beena ji!! This is my justification for your answers.

3) What if you don’t have so much energy and health? – it leads to frustration.
4) True love never lasts.
5) I was telling about our own mistakes
7) Heroes are not heroes, but final winners!!
glasses2 To forgive “Unforgivable hurt” definitely needs practice!! To reach that level.....
9) Not true with all!!
11) it is for true friendship!!
12) On the other hand, if someone loved you in their own way and deeply, you would love that. – The meaning of my saying is same as your second sentence
13) Animals also having growth!!
14) It depends on “maturity”
16) Nothing to do with “World”, we are responsible for our mistake and grief!!
17) You are contradicting your own statement of 16.
19) Those are honest with themselves, get further in life.
26) Love is not money and it never empties.

Thanks Beena ji, you made me to think twice!! :thumb:

4) True love will always last but it's very hard to come by.
7) Heroes are those who make others win and in the process win themselves too together with others. It's winners like the Olympic winners who win for themselves. You are confusing between who a hero is and who a winner is. They are two different things just like a leader leads by example but a boss demands. *giggle*
12) The meaning is not the same. If someone loves you so it's not obvious to you then it means that they don't love you, no matter what fashion they love you in because love reciprocates love and you don't need eyes for love, you just feel it. So it will be felt if the person loved you, but if it's not felt then the person does not love you. There is no such thing that someone loves you in their own fashion but you just don't know that.
26) I never said that love is actually money. I said that you can only give love if you have it yourself, therefore, you'd have to keep it to give it. I used money only as an analogy.

I don't agree with you on a lot of other stuff too but I chose to just remark on the above points. Case closed! I don't want to discuss any further.
