I dreamed I had an interview with God.

"Come in," God said. "So, you would like to interview Me?"

"If you have the time," I said.

God smiled and said: "My time is eternity and is enough to do everything;  what questions do you have in mind to ask me?"

"What surprises you most about mankind?"

God answered: "That they get bored of being children, are in a rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.

That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health.

That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live neither for the present nor the future.

That they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they had never lived..."

God's hands took mine and we were silent for while and then I asked... "As a parent, what are some of life's lessons you want your children to learn?"

God replied with a smile: "To learn that they cannot make anyone love them. What they can do is to let themselves be loved.

To learn that what is most valuable is not what they have in their lives, but who they have in their lives.

To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. All will be judged individually on their own merits, not as a group on a comparison basis!

To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.

To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in  persons we love, and that it takes many years to heal them. To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.

To learn that there are persons that love them dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.

To learn that money can buy everything but happiness.

To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it totally differently.

To learn that a true friend is someone who knows everything about them and likes them anyway.

To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others, but that they have to forgive themselves."

I sat there for awhile enjoying the moment. I thanked Him for his time and for all that He has done for me and my family, and He replied, "Anytime. I'm here 24 hours a day. All you have to do is ask for me, and I'll answer."

Here my first set of questions.

1)you have explained beautifully the relation between Mind and Moon in your discussion on Mann… I am eager to know many more things about Mind.

Quote
How to get rid of the illusory nature of mind  Can mind be changed
Of course, mind can be changed.......since it is always wandering in all directions, it can certainly be changed.......mind is made up of prakriti i.e. nature i.e. prithvi, jal , agni, vayu and aakash.......if we change prakriti, we can change the mind.......

Prakriti is of three types, namely, Sattvic, Rajasic and Tamasic.......

Now, to change the prakriti.......we need to do only one thing.......change the type of food we eat.......

If we start eating Sattvic food, our mind will become more balanced and calm and tranquil.......

This is very interesting……can you explain more differences between Sattvic, Rajasic and Tamasic and how it relates to mind

2) God is one.  But why there are so many religions?

if you don't mind, can i ask some more silly questions which i really don't know? Usual Smile  Usual Smile  Usual Smile  Usual Smile

Hare Krishna, Suhas!!!

Sattvic prakriti denotes tranquility, balance, calmness, pure love, peace, bliss, silence, contentment, restraint etc.......Once sattva guna increases in a person, he doen't need much to become happy.......happiness and peace of mind come naturally to that person.......

Rajasic prakriti donotes restlessness, necessity to work hard, passion, a feeling of necessity for the comforts and good things of life to live happily, competition, to make a name for oneself, jealousy, attraction, aversion, stress, tension.......once rajo guna increases in a person, he won't be able to sit quiet.......he needs to be doing something or the other.......

Tamasic prakriti denotes pracrastination, laziness, sleep, uncleanliness, taking shortcut for getting the comforts and worldly pleasures, impure thoughts, no regard for other person's feelings and all that could take a person in downward direction.......

Our mind becomes Sattvic, Rajasic, Tamasic or any combination of the three in any proportions according to the type of food we take.......
The most important thing is food in a person's life because that influences the thoughts of the mind and ultimately a person is what he thinks.......

By the term food is not just meant the food we eat, but food means all that we take inside through our five senses (through which we perceive this world)

Food for eyes are the objects.......we should be careful with what we see, what we read because that goes inside the sub-conscious mind.......that is why it is not good to watch movies, reading of newspapers and watching all those rubbish serials on television.......they do more harm to us than good.......

Similarly, food for ears is sound.......a sincere sadhak should be very careful with what he is listening.......because after eyes it is the ears that influence the mind the most.......if someone goes to a disc, he will definitely feel like dancing, no matter how sattvic he is.......so a sincere sadhak should not listen to worldly songs or gossip abt third person or like stuff that make the mind restless.......

Food for nose is smell.......don't use perfumes or deodrants because they are made of chemicals that influence the mind in a negative way.......smell of flowers or incense sticks are considered sattvic.......

Food for skin is touch.......its not good to shake hands with just anybody because touch of negative person influences the mind in a negative way.......boys and girls shaking hands with each other is also not considered good because in the process they lose their magnetic energy.......

Food for tongue is taste and food for survival is aahar that we take everyday (for more on the three gunas, you can read Chapter 17 of Srimad Bhagvad Gita with commentary of some renowned authority like Swami Chinmayanadji or Gyaneswari Gita for explanation)

Religions are creation of mind, not God.......

Since there are so many people with different mindset, therefore, there are so many religions.......

Even you can create your own new religion, if you are not satisfied with ones that already exist.......

Those people who have limited knowledge abt God create religion.......

Hinduism is not a religion, its a way of life.......it was not created by anybody.......it is Sanatan i.e. eternal.......you can believe in God/you can live without beleiving in God/and you can even fight with God if you don't like him or her/you can beleive in Vedant, the formless nature of God/you can believe in with form nature of God/you can worship idols/you don't need to worship idols if you don't feel like doint it.......

Hinduism has absolutely no problems with anyone.......

Religions matter only till people are unaware of true nature of God.......once they become aware of the true nature of God, they will themselves be in a position to find out what they need and what they don't.......

If you are sincerely interested in spirituality, you can visit Swami Sivanandji's website.......its a really nice one and quite a large no. of books written by Swamiji himself are available for free download.......you can learn a lot by reading those books.......

Thanks for the information and a wonderful site suggestion Karan ji.  I have gone through some parts of some books, like dream, life….. etc. It is really wonderful site for unknown world.

I wanted to know the secret of life and human mentality. I am asking one more question. Is it not possible to attain the highest state of mind being as we are (with good thinking and kind hearted etc...) and enjoying all happiness of life?  (because afterall we are here for live our life completely right?)

There is a saying,
You cannot have all

Have you ever thought as to why do people suffer all sorts of pain and do most difficult of sadhana, unimaginable to an ordinary mortal?

Answer is simple.......because they want to attain the highest state of existence which is nothing but bliss absolute.......

Worldly pleasure are nothing compared to the bliss of the highest state of existence which is also known by the names of enlightenment, self-realization(Brahmgyan) etc.......

And before thinking of enjoying worldly pleasures, you should know how do we feel pleasure/joy/happiness and pain.......it is essential to know the working of pleasure and pain.......how it all works? Do you already know the working?.......

It is just like, you know, you are driving your new car on a highway on top speed with beautiful music playing in the car and suddenly at some lonely place, the car comes to a halt without giving you any warning........what would you do? Tyres are all right, petrol tank is full, battery is ok, but still something has happened.......so if you have a little bit of knowledge of the wire connection etc. perhaps you could mend the problem yourself.......otherwise you are at the mercy of passers-by.......they might help you, they might not help you.......you are all alone with nobody to help you out.......are you getting what i m trying to say?

In the same manner, when in the midst of happiness suddenly some difficult situation comes in and you are left all alone with no support and you start to feel helpless.......then at that juncture the knowledge of how happiness and unhappiness/pain works will come to your rescue.......there is no other way out.......

And know one thing for certain, that nothing is permanent.......if today somebody's time is good then later he will surely be in trouble and if today somebody's time is bad then later it will definitely lead him to some happier times.......so be prepared!!!

Good fortune follows upon disaster,
Disaster lurks within good fortune,
The whole world is like that,
Perhaps there is no end
.......Lao Tzu in his Tao Te Ching

(You can also surf for Tao Te Ching.......its a wonderful book by an ancient Chinese philosopher called Lao Tzu)

You are absolutely right Karan ji.  But the temptation of worldly pleasure doesn’t allow us to do sadhana.  That’s why it is more difficult!!!  I know Temptation doesn't come from God but from within. Every person goes through repeated experiences of temptation of worldly pleasure.

Your explanation about driving car on highway is certainly an example of  our limited strength or knowledge.  It explains everything!!!!

Thanks again!!!   Usual Smile  Usual Smile  Usual Smile  Usual Smile  Usual Smile
