dil ke hawaale dil karte hain
baad jeena muskil karte hain

kaisi ye chahat hoti hai
dhadkan tak mustakbil karte hain

koi aahatt ho to palak uthe
dehri pe hi nazar rakhte hain

tamaam umra gujar gaye sang sa
ab ek moum sa zigar rakhte hain

phoolon ki saeyaa na chodi jisne
sauk se kantilee dagar chalte hain

dhua dhua sa armaan lie
mehfil e shama parwaan chadhte hain

roke kadam na rukte hain fir
sar par ek kafan rakhte hain

manzil ki pehchaan ko firte
yahan wahan nishaan karte hain!
