The minute and Hour hands clasped for a moment In a prayer gesture towards the Heaven, Whole Nation broke loose, fire crackers and cheer, The air resonated merrily, “Happy New Year”. All and sundry in joyous celebration of new morn, Exchange well wishes with sincere love and affection. This very day we askew criticizing others, only introspect, No faultfinding for others, only warmth, humility and respect. We introspect for impartial verdict on this day of every year, And see the bad habits carved on us, to change that we swear. For month long we send messages, with hearty good wishes Come February, the short memory webs and down it gushes. As March ensues, the new year transforms to good old garb’ Resolutions remain unfulfilled and get piled in archive blurb, Till another New Year, beckons and revives them again, To be lost in the next three months, in short memory lane.
Every sunrise with its warmth and glow herald a new day Take oath in every dawn, though by evening fail you may. When next dawn peeps in, you repeat the oath again. Till the failure hides its face and righteousness you attain. Keep vigil always on self, no ill feelings with friend and foe, For, our good or misdeeds bounce back with amplified echo. Dump the old baggage of bitterness, wary and resentment, Life with zest and love may possess you now in every moment. If you are a Good Samaritan and keep smiling always, When in dire need whole cosmos for you converges and prays.
So, take resolution and rewind every morn from this New Year To spread aroma, like selfless flower, by your act ‘n’ behavior.
