पंथ के सहचर हुए अनुदार,
इकला चल रहा हूँ।
क्यूँ करूँ मैं व्योम का मनुहार ?
इकला चल रहा हूँ।।
यक्ष प्रश्नों के मुझे उत्तर सही आते नहीं;
मैं युधिष्ठिर का नहीं अवतार,
इकला चल रहा हूँ।
जब कोई तृष्णा नहीं उर में बची ;
क्यूँ सरोवर पर करूँ अधिकार ?
इकला चल रहा हूँ।
ना कहीं नौका, न ही नाबिक कोई ;
फिर मेरे किस काम का पतवार ?
इकला चल रहा हूँ।
बाढ़ का तूफ़ान है, उफ़नी नदी है ;
तैर कर जाना है मुझको पार,
इकला चल रहा हूँ।
यह परीक्षा 'अदब' के साहस की है ;
फिर करूँ क्यूँ हार को स्वीकार ?
इकला चल रहा हूँ।
पंथ के सहचर हुए अनुदार,
इकला चल रहा हूँ।
