THANDI SATTON DE SATU (Pujabi)

Kade pherhaa vee howye te tusee aenj chataan ho jaao
Oh yaaro kujj aenjan hee thandi satton de satu ho jaao

Satu = in good old days satu were made from dry raosted
Jawar and ground like a grit. These were floated in syrup
made with raw sugar (gurh). In India when farmers used to
come home thirsty in the burning heat, they were offered
to drink. The idea was they could not drink fast in one
go and get a stomack pain.
