तुम भी तो दोस्त हो;


तुम को भी पता ही होगा;


बहुत दिनों से उदासी किये घर बैठी है।


जि़न्दगी रूठी हुई लगती है माशूक़ा सी।


चहचहे गुम हैं, बग़ीचे गुम-सुम।


दिल सुकूँ ढूँढ़ता है माज़ी में;


ऐसे में दोस्त ! याद आते तुम।।





जब भी याद आती है,


दिल से ये निकलती है दुआ,


मेरी बदहाली मुझी तक सिमटे।


तुम हो जिस ओर

 

वहाँ हर तरफ़ ख़ुशहाली हो।


औ’ कभी तुमको भी


याद आये मेरी, ऐसे ही।।




तुम भी तो दोस्त हो।।
