main bhi ek koshish karti hoon.

UNKE HAR EK ADAA BHI KITNA AJEEB HAI
JISSE CHAHE KARDE GHAYAL APNE NIGAHON SE
BAN SAWAR KE AATE HAI ISS MAHEFIL MEIN
KARKE GHAYAL CHALE JAATE HAI ISS MAHEFIL SE
UNKE HAR EK ADAAYE BHI KITNA AJEEB HAI

Sophi ji mujhe aap sabke help chaiye.

Madhuwesh ji aapne bahoot Acha likha hai... Par wahi meter ki kami hai ...

Aap bhi Hum sab ki tarah pehle Meter ko samaj le.. fir hum sab sath milkar Kuch naya likhenge aur apni Kala ka sahi pradarshan kar sakenge... Jo aage humare bahoot kaam aayega !

Thank you !

Bahut sunder dhang se samjhaya hai aap sab ne....lots of flowers for U all.... icon_flower icon_flower icon_flower icon_flower icon_flower icon_flower

Maff kijeeyega hum ne poetry likhne ki koi taalim nahi lee hai....
Hum tou kewal kafia milane ki aur lines ki lambaayee equal rakhane ki koshish karte rahe hain..
jo aapko hamaari jayadakar pesh-kash mai nazar aayegi....

Main aksar pratikriya he wyakt karti hu.....
Aur wo instant hota hai...without any rough work...
Laghu aur Guru ka tou kabhi khayaal he nahi kiya (ise jara vistaar se samjhaiye)

Koshish karte hain dekhiye kahaan tak safalta milti hai....

Pyaare dosto! Is section meiN aaya to aap logon se guftugu karne ko dil chaaha. KOYAL Sahiba k sher ko baDi khoobsurti k saath Janaab Riyaz Saheb ne bahr (meter) ki qaid meiN laakar sher meiN dobaalgi ata kar di. Riyaz Saheb ne badi tafseel se meter (bahr) k ramooz-o-nukaat samjhaaye. Sher kya hai, sher kise kahte haiN, isko samajhna bahut zaroori hai warna sirf jumloN k aakhri lafz ya kafiyoN ko badal dena hi sher nahiN hai. Sher kahne k qaide-qaanoon Mr Riyaz Saheb ne badi had tak samjha diye haiN. Is se ye ilm hua k sher ko hum-wazn likha jata hai jise urf-aam meiN chhand, bahr waghaira kahte haiN. Baghair chhand ya meter k koi bhi alfaazoN ka samooh sher nahiN kahlaayega. Ab aap KOYAL Saheba ka jo sher (Zamaana rokta to hai magar kab koi rukta hai…..Koi bhi apne guzre kal ko kaise bhool sakta hai) Janaab Riyaz Saheb ne durust kiya hai, use dekhiye, jiske arkaan haiN:

Mafayeelun……. Mafayeelun…. Mafayeelun…….. Mafayeelun

Ise number meiN yuN bhi samjha ja sakta hai:

1+2+2+2……....…..1+2+2+2……….......1+2+2+2………….....1+2+2+2

Ab KOYAL Sahiba k sher ko is tarah tauliye:

Za maa na ro…...k ta to hai……....ma gar kab ko….…yee ruk ta hai
Ko i bhi ap…..….ne guz re kal....ko kai se bhoo……l sak ta hai

Is tarah hum ne dekha k KOYAL Sahiba ka sher kaise durust hua. MaiN ye kahna zaroori samajhta hooN k koi bhi sher, ghazal waghaira aap kaheN to use muhalle k kisi maanind Shaayar, Kavi do dikhla deN, uske baad hi yahaN post kareN. Koi bhi Shaayar ya Kavi ise dekhne k baad aapko zaroori maalumaat baham pahuNcha sakta hai, warna puri zindagi be-masraf ki tukbandi karte hue guzar jaayegi jo siwaaye waqt ki barbaadi ke ilaawah kuchh bhi nahiN hai. Aur aakhir meiN chalte chalte aap sab se darkhwast hai k mujh se agar koi talkh-kalaami ho gayee ho to baraye mehrbaani maaf kijiyega.

dekhiye arkaan aur feet both are same

hum arkaan ko kaise likhte hain ye samajhne vali baat hai
jo ki bahut asaan hai

hum jaise voice karte hain see its all about weighing the words

If you were to say “va-za-n” and pronounce each sound seperately, you will notice that you are not able to pronounce the word properly, hence the proper pronounciation of the word depends on you uttering out these two sounds distinctly, that is “vaz-n”. Incidently, this proper pronouncation of the word is known as ‘talaffuz’ in Urdu, a word you may encounter in your studies of the Urdu Meter. Getting back to “vazn” which means weight (by the way), now that we know it is made of two distinct sounds and if we say these sounds, then the “talaffuz” of the word is proper and accepted, what about these sounds? Can we quantify them? Sure we can. There are two type of sounds, a long sound and a short sound. In general (and you will see this pattern a lot), a short sound is simply a consonant with perhaps a vowel sound while a long sound is two consonents bound together with a vowel. In our case, “vaz-n” has one long sound (vaz) and one short sound (n). This generalizes a lot of things but if we were to assign a quantity to the long and short sound, lets give 2 to long and 1 to short and now look at the weight of Vazn or basically the vazn of vazn, it becomes: 2-1

YANI SHORT SOUND KE LIE 1 IS ASSIGNED AND 2 IS FOR LONG SOUND

duniyaa (dun-yaa) -> 2-2 (did you get that right? did you break it down as du-ni-yaa? More on this later)
mausam (mau-sam) -> 2-2
fazaa (fa-zaa) -> 1-2
gardish (gar-dish) -> 2-2
khoobsoorat (khoo-b-soo-rat) -> 2-1-2-2

yahi I ko 1 and G ko 2 kah sakte hain jo ki laghu aur guru hain.

isi tarah se hum sher bhi samajh sakte hain

bus ise hi samajhna hai ab alag alag meter hain jaise ramal, jazaaj, rajaaz
unme aise hi jo meter hai vo hi poori ghazal/poem me follow karega

meter hum khud bhi bana sakte hain

itna khyaal rakhna hai ki words ki matrayen sari lines me ek rahen

an example of a simple meter

1 2 2    1 2 2    1 2 2    1 2 2
ye mahalo.n, ye taKto.n, ye taajo.n kii duniyaa
ye inasaa.n ke dushman samaajo.n kii duniyaa
ye daulat ke bhuukhe rivaazo.n kii duniyaa
ye duniyaa agar mil bhii jaaye to kyaa hai

it requires little attention n practice.

thanks all of u
Sophi ji,thanks
Koyal ji,since u r not much aware of this u need to read, learn n understand a lot,i have mentioned a thrd regarding it above.
pls go through it,we are all learning from each other also.
isko example ke saath bhi samajhne ki koshish karen

well for now go through this:
these all are there on net we just have to read, understand n implement.
Each syllable is a 'l' or a 'Ga' a 'small syllable' or a 'large syllable' respectively.
The letters that end with following vowels are classified as 'small syllable' : a, I, u, o, e.
The letters that end with following vowels are classified as 'large syllable' : o, e, AA, ee, oo, au, ai.

If a letter is a small consonant (l) but is followed by a letter with two consonents as 'ka' in 'kashti' that letter becomes a large syllable.

Also note that a single large syllable in a baher can be split into two small ones. But if a baher has two small syllables adjacent to each other, you can not combine the two and make it into a single large syllable.

Step 2 Each word made of one or several syllables has wazan (weight) made of its individual syllables - in the sequence of its syllables.

Examples :
Lakeer - lGal
ladaai - lGal
lamhaa - GaGa
aa'inaa- GalGa
Gaanaa - GaGa
dhoop - Gal
chupke - llGa or lll or GaGa Gal
(in 'chupke chupke raat din aansoo bahaanaa yaad hai' the firsh chupke is alloted the space of 'Gal' and the second 'chupke' is allotted the space of 'GaGa'. This is the flexibility afforded by allowing vowel 'e' as both 'l'and 'Ga'.)

Step 3 : Words are arranged so that they fall in the 'mold' of a meter.

Flexibility :

1. 'e' and 'o' are both considered valid as being considered 'Ga' or 'l'. This gives tremendous flexibility. (in 'chupke chupke raat-din aansoo bahaanaa yaad hai' the first chupke is alloted the space of 'Gal' and the second 'chupke' is allotted the space of 'llGa' or 'GaGa'. This is the flexibility afforded by allowing vowel 'e' as both 'l' and 'Ga'.)

2. A plain syllable at the end of the misra is allowed without any 'wazan'.
(For example :
hai bas ki har ik unke ishaare me.n nishaa.N aur
karate hai.n muhabbat to guzarataa hai gumaa.N aur
hai.n aur bhii duniyaa me.n suKhanavar bahut achchhe
kahate hai.n ki 'Ghalib' kaa hai a.ndaaz-e-bayaa.N aur

The final 'r' in first second and fourth misraa is I addition to the meter of the third misraa but since it's a plain sound at the end, it is just allowed to be there. As a result you can use a entire extra consonant in your misraa.

Behad achchhi jaankari ke liye @kaash ji aur Waquif Sahab ko Dhanybaad

Kash ji aapka bahut shukriya ke aapne behr jaise important subject par almost sabhi zaruri information yahan jutaai hain. Maine is thread mein shayari ke liye behr ki  zaroorat par zor diya tha aur mujhe khushi hai ke kuchh members ne is baat ko samjha aur iski zaroorat ko mehsoos karte hue ise seekhne mein dilchaspi dikhai aur apne apne taur par koshish bhi kar rahe hain.

Kash ji aapne behr seekhne ke liye net se ya doosre sources se jo jaankari jutaai hai wo sufficient hai. Agar in sab ko dhyan se padha jaaye, samjha jaye to  behr ko seekha asaan ho jayega.

Halanke behr ya meter  shayari ke liye behad Important cheez hai lekin 5-6 members jaise Sophi ji, Koyal ji, BBL ji, Dr.Pandey ji, Kash ji aur mere alaawa kisi ne isme dilchaspi nahi dikhai.Waqif sahib to khair ustaade-fanne-shayari hain. Beherhaal jo jaankari Kash ji,Waqif sahab aur maine provide ki hai sabko chahiye usse fayeda uthaayen.

Hello friends,

I am new to this area... need a lot of guidance...

Likhta hoon kabhi kabhi... par aaj kal kuch aadat si ban gayi hai... par kya likhta hoon mujhe khud bhi nahi pata ... aap sabhi bade bade lekhako aur lekhikaaon k bich to main kuch bhi nahi hoon... aap log mere kavitaaon ko padhen aur batayein ki main kya kya sudhaar la sakta hoon unme...

meri ek kavita

tu hi tu hai mere har ghazal me,
mere har khayal pe tera bas tera hi naam hai,
tere hone se meri zindagi poori thi,
tere bina ab adhuri meri har subah har shaam hai...
