Blessing II

According to Vajrayana school of Buddhism,

To take birth as human is very precious......

It is taught that if all the world were water and a wooden yoke were thereupon to be tossed by the winds, and a blind turtle surfaced once every hundred years, for that turtle to put it's neck in the yoke would be easier than to obtain the precious human birth.......

Human birth is not just being born as a man or a woman.......the human body along with the following fortunate circumstances/blessings constitute the true human birth.......

1. Not to be born into unrestful existences tormented by suffering like the hell and animal realms

2. Not to be born into primitive tribes to which no religion or philosophy has appeared

3. Not to be born amongst long lived gods adrift on the currents ignorance: blissful self-absorption of our godlike powers,until doubt sets in and shatters our confidence of desire

4. Not to be born amongst humans with wrong views

5. Not to be born in a dark aeon when Buddha (the enlightened souls) has not appeared

6. Not to be born as mentally retarded

7. Not to be born as one who cannot understand philosophy or religion

8. To obtain the body of a human

9. To be born in a central country without extreme conditions

10. To have all five senses intact

11. To be able to reverse the tide of Karma

12. To have faith in the three jewels-Buddha, Dharma, Sangha

13. To have a teacher of the Dharma

14. To have a stable doctrine

15. To have favorable circumstances for the practice of the Dharma
