Pain/Misery/Sufferings are like fire...just as fire make anything that comes in its contact pure and flexible...similarly sufferings come in our life to break our rigidity, to break our rigid ideas about happiness, to change our point of view about life to that which is in harmony with nature...

Until our nature harmonises completely with nature...luxury will continue to make us rigid and sufferings will continue to make us miserable

A man is born gentle and weak.
At his death he is hard and stiff.
Green plants are tender and filled with sap.
At their death they are withered and dry.
Therefore the stiff and unbending is the disciple of death.
The gentle and yielding is the disciple of life.
A tree that is unbending is easily broken.
The hard and strong will fall.
The soft and weak will overcome.......Lao Tzu (Tao Te Ching)

Dil diya, dard diya, aor de di lambi jindagi
bas ab itani hai chaht, de de ise jeene ki bandangi!!
jo yah dil use dard ke kabil laga, to kayun,
is dil ko, khud ki tarah, pathar ka nahi bana diya!!

Gum ki andheri raat mein dil ko na bekararr kar
Subah zaroor aayegi subah ka intezar kar!!!

Blessed are those who can live with tragedy in their hearts and smile on their face... :!:

Now,you know, Pooja ji, ki aapko pathar ka kyon nahin banaya... :?:

We blame HIM or others for our miseries because we don't know our past but the real truth is...nobody makes us miserable or happy except our own actions

karam pradhan visv rachi rakha
jo jas karhin so tas fal chakha...Ramcharitmanas

The way out is...
Ram bhajan binu sunahu khagesa
mitahin na jivan ker kalesa...Ramcharitmanas

Ram bhajan means knowledge of the absolute truth knowing which we get emancipated from this world of miseries...

The only purpose of human life is to know that absolute truth...Sri Ramkrishn Paramhansa

karo pooja karo upwaas
nishkam bhav se aur chup chap
jo hua achha hua, jo ho raha achha hi hay
hoga jo achha hi hoga, mann mein sada rakhna vishwaas

abhi bhale kuch samajh na aaye
dheeraj rakho apne man maaye
vasant samay aane par aaye
unsuljhe ka hul mil jaaye

OK, Let's discuss mann (mind).......

According to Hindu philosophy, mind is represented by moon.......now, moon never remains same.......it keeps on changing everyday, that's why, our mind also never remains fixed.......it keeps on moving in all directions looking for happiness and pleasure.......

Along with mind, we have got one more thing, buddhi i.e. intellect.......represented by Sun.......it is the buddhi which takes the decision of right and wrong.......

Suppose, our mind says, so many people drink.......why not try one? Mind always lives in illusions, it is very easily affected by what it sees.......Now, the buddhi will say...no, its not good for you...its a bad thing...if you accept what your buddhi says, you won't drink...but if you accept what your mind says, then...

We very rarely use our buddhi...actually we use our buddhi to fulfill the vasanas (desires) of our mind.......since it is the mind according to which we always act, that is why, we match the Chandra Kundli of the prospective bride and groom for compatibility test and not sun signs.......compatibility tests based on sun signs do not stand much chance of success

How to get rid of the illusory nature of mind :?: Can mind be changed :?:
Of course, mind can be changed.......since it is always wandering in all directions, it can certainly be changed.......mind is made up of prakriti i.e. nature i.e. prithvi, jal , agni, vayu and aakash.......if we change prakriti, we can change the mind.......

Prakriti is of three types, namely, Sattvic, Rajasic and Tamasic.......

Now, to change the prakriti.......we need to do only one thing.......change the type of food we eat.......

If we start eating Sattvic food, our mind will become more balanced and calm and tranquil.......

There is one more thing on which our mind depends.......the prana, the breath.......slower the breath, calmer the mind.......breath can be slowed down by doing pranayama.......but for perfection in pranayama, food should necessarily be sattvic.......

Subtle and slower the breath, the more calm and tranquil the mind will become.......

For subtle breath, you need sattvic food.......

For slowing down the speed of breath, pranayama and right posture.......
if your posture is not right, no amount of  pranayama is going to help you.......right posture means, as far as possible keep your back, neck and head along the same straight line.......

There is a difference between satsang and singing & listening to bhajans.............hope you understand the difference............

I was listening to Swami Avdheshanandji's Satsang on Sanskar TV and got something really special...........hope it will answer some of yr queries........

Prashn: Dharm ka ful kya hay?
Uttar: Dharm ka ful dhan nahi hay aur na hi manokamnaon ki siddhi hay.......Dharm ka ful svayam bhagwan hain i.e. if you do what you must do and alongwith, are doing regular puja for the sake of puja and not for fulfillment of some desires, the Almighty will make arrangements for you to walk on his path i.e. the path of enlightenment and when you reach the state of self-realisation, you will become free from misery and sufferings  of this world forever.......and after that, it will be all bliss.....
