Mujhko Hai Teri Justjoo Mujhko Teri Talaash Hai,
Jaan-e-Jahan Kahan Hai Tu, Mujhko Teri Talaash Hai.

Daryaa Mein Koh Hissar Mein Waadi Mein Aabshaar Mein....
Patton Mein, Gul Mein, Khaar Mein, Mujhko Talaash Hai.

Friends above is a part of the prayer I used to sing as a leader at a school when I was in 4th grade, this was before the Pakistan was created out of India. Later on of course this was replaced by other prayers written by Dr. Iqbal, Lab Pe Aati Hai Duaa & Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamaara. All these prayers were very nice but some how I like best is the Mujhko Hai teri Justjoo, I think this is best because it was directed at God, simply praising him and not asking for anything for ourself. I am not saying that it is bad to ask God for giving something, I think God is all knowing
and keeps giving us without asking. May be sometimes we don't give him a chance to do so, so he gets annoyed with us. Anyway I can go on and on, I better come to the point. I don't remember the words of the complete Prayer nor do I know who wrote it.
I have tried all resources available to me but I have failed. Can anyone at YoIndia help me in this, I shall be very grateful to her or him.

It is interesting to find a reference to this long forgotten prayer on this page. The poem incidentally was written by my maternal grand father, Master S.K Feroz. He was a teacher at the Khalsa School for Boys in Ambala before the parition in 1947. Unfortunately he died in the senseless carnage that accompanied the partition. He was survived at that time by 2 sons and a daughter, my mother. Presently only one son is alive , others having passed away. My father remembered the whole poem by heart and often used to recite it to us but we never ever got down to writing or recording it. Sadly my father passed away in 2007. However one of my Khalas has a faded copy of it and i will definitely try and decipher it and post it for you. The makta of the poem carried my Nana's name: Mera Feroze naam hai teri talaash kaam hai jaaney chhpa kahan hai tu mujh ko teri talaash hai. One of the lines was really beautiful: phoolon mein misl-e-boo nihan. How I wish I knew it by heart.
I would love to touch base with you. My email is qureshiashraf@hotmail.com

icon_flowerAshraf Queshi Saheb, this prayer was published in the prayer book of Christian High School, Kharar which was a Tehsil of Ambala. As students we sang this prayer frequently in the mornings. I am 65 and still sing this prayer. I salute your honourable grandfather Master S.K. Feroz and bow before him who is immortalised in this prayer.
Our both countries were created amidst religious, communal and lawless violence and genocide. We have burried our great heritage beneath perpetual misunderstandings, religion engendered hate and mountains of dead bodies of our near and dear ones lost senselessly. When will this cycle of hate and killings stop?
Your family will remain eternally dear to thousands of those who have known and sung this prayer since childhood. God bless your grand dad's wonderful soul and you all no matter where you live in this subcontinent.

Hi everyone,
This prayer use to be mine too when I was in a Govt school in Leh Ladakh India back in 1982, but unfortunately people dont remember the whole prayer... I loved the enthusiasm we had when we sang this prayer.... Here is the prayer... am not certain if this is the correct version but seems like the same from my old school...
Mujhko hai teri justaju mujhko teri talash hai
Jane jahan kahan hai tu mujhko teri talash hai.
Dhunda jo marguzar men jangal men kohsaar men
Wadi men abshar men mujhko teri talash hai
Nargis men lalazar men sumbal ki tar tar men
Sahra men sabza zar men mujhko teri talash hai
Gul men misal-i-bu nihan baitha hai chhup ke tu kahan
Patton men gul men khar men mujhko teri talash hai.
Suraj men kaun jalwagar, taron men kis ka hai asar
Dhundun kahan men bekhabar mujhko teri talash hai.
Mera Feroze nam hai teri talash kam hai
Allah hai ya tu Rain hai mujhko teri talash hai.
Mujhko hai teri justaju mujhko teri talash hai
Jan-i-jahan kahan hai tu mujhko teri talash hai.

Pray and stay blessed everyone

Khayal Sahib, thankyou ever so much. I am simply overwhelmed by emotions. My maternal grandfather who had ritten this prayer died in 1947, before I was born.  My fatherremembered the whole poem and used to recite to us when we were young but alas we never wrote it down or record it. My father passed away in 2007, since then i have been trying to find the full text. Thanks to the internet and kind friends like you I think now I have the full text. If I have your email I  can send it to you. My email is qureshiashraf@hotmail.com. With warm regards , Ashraf Qureshi
