ચાલ, નીકળી પડીએ રે વરસાદમાં…

અંદર ક્યાંક ધરબીને રાખેલું ગીત જેમ નીકળી પડે રે વાતવાતમાં,
એમ વાદળો અથડાય છે આકાશમાં,
ચાલ, નીકળી પડીએ આ વરસાદમાં…

ઓગળતી ઓગળતી ઓગળતી જાય જાત
અંદર-બાહર બધ્ધું જ તરબોળ;
ભીતરના ચમકારે ભીંજાતી પળપળને
પ્રોવી, પ્રોવામાં થાઉં ઓળઘોળ
સાત સાત રંગ પડે ઝાંખા એમ આભમાં તેજ થઈ ઝળહળીએ, વા’લમા !
ચાલ, નીકળી પડીએ આ વરસાદમાં…

હોવાની હોડીને તરતી મેલીને
ચાલ, વહી નીકળીએ ગઈકાલમાં;
વ્યસ્તતા ઓઢીને જ્યાં કોરું રહેવાનું નહીં,
ભીંજાવું કેવળ સંગાથમાં
ફંટાતા માર્ગ પાણી-પાણી થઈ જાય એમ વરસીએ હાથ લઈ હાથમાં.
ચાલ, નીકળી પડીએ આ વરસાદમાં…
