Jab tumhein pukaaruun, bulaaye hai papihraa!

Beeta aashhaadh rahee jhulasatee dharaa pyaasee!
Shraawan aayaa to loute hain ghan sanyaasee!
Aik hee ghanee phuhaar ne sarsaayee hai ritu;
Loutne lage hain ghar prawaasee witap-waasee!!

Tum bin, soone is ghar-aangan mein simtee huyee,
Shoonya mein nihaaruun; rulaaye hai papihraa!
                     Jab tumhein pukaaruun, bulaaye hai papihraa!

Aaj fir titahree ne failaaye apne par,
Nanhe-nanhe shishuon ke sar par jyon chhappar!
Warshhaa kee boondon ko sahtee maan banee dhhaal,
Tarbatar huyee, chhone ghar mein, maataa beghar!!

Aao to batlaauun, kaise kisko-kisko,
Sapnon ke jhoole jhulaaye hai papihraa!
                 Jab tumhein pukaaruun, bulaaye hai papihraa!
