Hi. Arun Chitnis from Mumbai, previously from Pune, before that from Belgaum, before that from Germany. I think think this is a really good idea. Don't write shayris myself - but am an enthusiastic poet. Good for you, Pooja - you show rare zeal and committment.

Here is one of mine:

FUTILE ALTAR

It was no more than happenstance
That caused two wandering souls
To briefly meet – the purest chance
That she gave me a second glance
How strangely Fate’s bell tolls.

It seems to me we shared some times
That only my heart treasures
Mine alone calls them sublime
Enough to try and make them rhyme
And precious beyond measure.

How mystifying our Maker’s mind
To smile at such imbalance
My voice with hers briefly entwined
Only, in the end, to find
The song had no resonance.

Love can surely only croon
The most elusive odes
It seems at first the perfect tune
But discord creeps in all too soon
The harmony erodes.

The most impassioned love song dies
The lustiest voice must falter
When it finds that its sacrifice
Is viewed with cold, indifferent eyes
Upon a futile altar.

So fare thee well, my unmoved muse
God grant your heart’s desire
He gives us all the power to choose
There are no techniques one can use
To set a stone on fire�

hy! I M AbdulSamad from Gujarat India.

But now in Saudi Arebia from last one year.

I miss my gujarat and gujaraties very much...

I like love poems and shayaries.....very much...

and somtimes i make too...but it depend up-on mood....

I also like gujarati love Shayari and Kavita..

"smaru chhu tane evu kem kari kahu priye?
Smaran to tenu karvu ghate je ksan mate pan bhulayu hoi..."

"khovai jav chhu have ena khayalma...
Bandhi jigar e lai gayi dil na rumal ma..
1-2 ghadi na khel ma jakhmo madya hajar..
Thai hosiyar aavi gaya eni chal ma..."

Thodu lakhu chhu..dosto...i m not regular poet....

Thodama Ghanu samajajo...

Hi friends

This is ANITHA......basically from Hyderabad...INDIA

Doing my M.I.T in Australian university....presently residing in Australia.

i like to make friends, browse internet, working out with different and new programs (computers) listen to classic songs in Hindi and telugu
(like to listen other regional songs too if i could have understand them.....but completely enjoys music irrespective of language)

i used to read and write shaayari since my childhood.....

but used to never get time with friends to start with....

after i am here to Australia......i have started looking out for goodsites thru google which can help me out in getting good shaayari's and
luckily i have found YOINDIA recently and with out delaying anymore..i have registered myself

This is my first site that i have started to write and post my shaayari's ... are the feelings which i felt deep in my heart

Thanks to YOINDIA and to all the members of yoindia
for encouraging me and i hope this will be their in future too towards me from all of u
