Dear Friends,
As per our custom in Jainism we ask for forgiveness...

Khamemi Savve Jiva  (I forgive all the living beings)
Savve Jiva Khamantu Me  (I seek pardon from all the living beings)
Mitti Me Savva Bhutesu  (I am friendly towards all the living beings)
Veram Majjham Na Kenvi  (And seek enmity with none)
MICHHAMI DUKKADAM.  (FORGIVE ME FOR MY IGNORANCE)

In other words...On this great day of Samvatsari,
I would like to apologize and ask for your forgiveness,                                                                                                                                            If I may have hurt you, intentionally or unintentionally by thoughts, words or action.

'' MICHHAMI DUKKADAM "

With Best Regards

To err is human and to forgive is Divine.
On the auspicious occassion of Samvatshri the Jain Festival of universal forgiveness, in true Jain traditions, I
seek forgiveness for any wrong, injury or harm I caused to you, during
past 12 months, knowingly or unknowingly by MY thoughts, words, or
actions, I sincerely hope you will forgive ME,

"MICHCHHAMI DUKKADAM"

"Michchhami Dukkadam".... Michchhami means to be fruitless (forgiven) and Dukkadam (Dushkrut)means bad deeds. Therefore the meaning of Michchhami Dukkadam is my bad deeds (with you) be fruitless. So concept behind saying or writing someone "Michchhami Dukkadam" is that if I have done any harm to you, then those bad deeds to be forgiven (be fruitless).

Forgiveness is the
 Economy of the Heart-
It Saves Us from
the 'Expense' of Anger,
the 'Cost' of Hatred
& the 'Wastage' of Spirit............................. By MY deeds ,words or behaviour if I have hurt u, Knowingly  or unknowingly, Please  forgive me.  "MICHAMI DUKKDAM. ......KOYAL

"Khämemi Savve Jivä, Savve Jivä Khamantu Mi
Mitti Me Savva bhuesu, Veram majjham na Kenai."

On the auspicious occasion of The Kshamavani divas I seek Kshama yachna from all for hurting the feelings of any one knowingly or unknowingly in any form viz mentally, verbally or physically (man bachan or kaya se) directly or indirectly in any form any unpleasant and unwanted happenings.
I also forgive all living beings that may have caused any pain and suffering to me.
