"Birthday Alerts!!!"

Something was running on my mind since a period of time.

I just wanted to suggest one thing, that a member's birthdate should be reflected on the home page of YOINDIA. I agree that the member's are wished in "wishes and celebrations" section, but still it feels special when someone is wished on the Homepage. If i talk about myself, during my birthday, no doubts, i was wished in the particular section, but then i obviously would feel better if i was wished on the home page along with the link of the thread wishing the person HAPPY BIRTHDAY. In this case even new members would come to know, whose birthday it is and where is the exact location of the wishes...

Is this possible?

Angel Ka Sochna Bilkul Sahi Hai.. Birthday Alerts Hona Hi Chahiye..!! aur Mere Khayal se Yeh Koi Mushkil bhi Nahi Admin ji Ke liye...!! Kai Baar Hum Apne Yo Members Ka Birthday Bhool Jate Hain... Ya Phir Dhyaan nahi de Pate.. Par Birthday Alerts se yeh Kaam aasan Ho Jayega.. Aur Yo Ke New Ya Old, Har Member ka Birthday Date Saamne Nazar aaya karega..!!

Thanks for this kind gesture. Just had a look over that. This is good actually, but the thing i was desiring was upcoming birthdays as well as current birthdays.
Like "Today is __________'s Birthday". Something of such sort.

If you could do that it would be really good.

Well no doubt it was a wonderful idea by Angel and million thanks to her and also to Admin for implementing it immediately.

But i have a request to made, as the dates are visible now on the main page, maybe more than one or two people might make a thread to wish someone birthday. This would create a confusion among other Yoindians on which thread to submit their congratulation.

Either Admin or any one person from the Monitor team should make a thread for Birthday wishes which would be follwed by other Yoindians....

Here in Wishes and celebrations section, we have lots of birthday threads and anyone can start a new birthday thread. If that a thread already exist for that person to wish birthday then any of the Monitor will merge it in the first thread.
So, we are already following "first comes" basis and are maintaining single thread per person and that too for evey year. If you see any duplicate thread then we can merge them to make single thread.

I think things are going in the wrong direction. Its not the matter where the thread is being made. manier times i myself have seen that wishes are posted in the older threads only for birthdays. And when you can see whose birthday it is, it wont be difficult to find the older threads and post wishes into that particular thread. Just one rule needs to be made aware to members (and followed) that instead of creating a thread search the particular thread and post into the same one.

Rest to be left on Respected iAdmin and Monitors.

Can we implement just one more thing here.

As we have on the home page the list of upcoming birthdays, so when we click on the name it shows the profile. That means it is linked to the profile. If the same thing is linked to the birthday thread of the particular member, it would be quite easier for members to post their wishes directly rather than even going to the "Wishes and celebration" section. Means Birthday Name directly linked to the person's Birthday Thread...

In case of new members when the thread is not existing for their wishes previously then any of the Monitors can make the thread first and then get it linked to the Birthday Name.

This would create infact no confusions, and easy for all to wish.

I believe it would be very much useful.
