Information about Yoindia Shayariadab recent downtime

Dear Members,

Last few days were very unfortunate for Yoindia Shayariadab due to an unexpected event. I know everyone was disturbed and worried about it and infact it was a serious case. And its my moral duty to inform everyone about the issue in details because we all together make Yoindia Shayariadab. There could be some technical words here but I will try to make it simple.


Yoindia Shayariadab runs on a powerful server to accommodate its ever growing needs. The server comes with RAID setup where same data is saved multiple time so that in case of a disk failure, we can get our data from other disk. Other than that, Yoindia Shayariadab data is also copied few times a week on a remote backup server just to make sure that if anything bad ever happens, we have data on other datacenter.

However, this times something bad happened, RAID failed somehow(happens rarely but disks do fails regularly) resulted in corrupted data (sync failed repeatedly) and data was not recoverable. It took us long to get Yoindia Shayariadab back as we first tried to fix the server as it was looking more like software issue, then we tried to recover data by various means, however it failed. Then we resorted to our remote backup but due to some undetected errors, the remote server automated backups were not working from last few months so we either had to go with old data (few months old) or try to recover from corrupted RAID disks using some professional service. So, another few days spent to build a new server and also recover data from old disks by third party. Fortunately, we were able to recover data without any loss and Yoindia Shayariadab is back now.

Also, I was not able to inform our member due to aftermath of this issue which includes more redundant backups, manual check of backups as well as hardware regularly.

I hope, as in past, even in toughest phase, we stood together and will stand together in future.

very unfortunate, it's good that things are restored.Yoindia is our life, I personally felt that something missing inside me. But all well ends well.
